Clothing production in the Netherlands

At Atelier Jungles, we have everything in-house to help you develop your own collection or garment all the way to full production. We can assist you from sketch to final product, or only advise on the part of this process where you need help. This way, we work together with our clients to set up their own clothing line or complete clothing collection for fashion brands and webshops.

1. Introductory Meeting

Setting up a clothing brand or collection starts with sketches and ideas. During an (online) introductory meeting, you will tell more about your plans, how far you are in the development, and your budget. We will then look together at the possibilities and the timeline. In this phase, your product or brand is still in development, and we will carefully consider which steps still need to be taken and where you need our help.

In an introductory meeting, it is discussed how many articles or designs are involved, whether (digital) samples have been made, and which fabrics and notions need to be used. Based on this information, a rough estimate of the costs can already be made. These can be definitively calculated after making a sample.

2. Samples

The creation of a physical sample takes place in our studio. For this sample, we work with a pattern provided by you or we create the pattern for you based on your wishes and/or sketches. For making a sample, we order all necessary materials and fabrics, and schedule an initial fitting appointment. During this, we determine if any adjustments to the patterns and the product need to be made, after which we will implement these adjustments in a second sample round. For making the samples, we work with a fixed hourly rate of €44.50 per hour (ex VAT). Often, we can estimate in advance how many hours we will spend on your product so that you know what to expect. This remains an estimate; the most important thing is to deliver a good sample, so it can always be the case that we spend longer or shorter on it. All samples and the patterns we create on your behalf are from this moment your property. 

3. Production consultation

Before we start making a sample, many choices need to be made to ensure that the prototypes come as close as possible to the desired final result. We do this during a "production consultation". With fabric samples and yarn, we will look at which fabrics you want to use for your collection, whether size and brand labels need to be ordered, and which care labels you want to use. We work with many regular suppliers of sustainable materials, but you are of course also welcome to provide your own fabrics. In consultation, we will determine the quantities and sizes of the items, the composition of the collection, and the timeline and delivery date of your own clothing line during this production consultation. This production consultation is one of the most important moments in the process because it determines the entire look and feel of your own collection, and it can take some time. We find it very important that you can consider all possibilities and we want to advise you well on the choices available. Since we take ample time for this consultation, and a lot of time is spent in contact with suppliers, we charge a fixed fee of €215.00 (ex VAT) for fully assembling your collection, regardless of the duration of the conversation. A conversation typically lasts a whole afternoon or morning. Preferably, you come by for this in the studio, but it can also be done digitally. Based on this conversation and the sample that comes from it, a price per item will be determined, and we always make a suitable quote based on your wishes and try to think along with the possibilities within your budget.

4. Starting production

Once all samples and the quote are approved and the choices for designing the collection are made, we will get started! All necessary components for your production will be ordered, and we will schedule the production. During production, we will keep you updated, and you are always welcome to visit the studio to see and possibly take photos or videos to document the process. Once production is completed, we will send it to you, or you can pick it up in consultation. 

Complete service

Especially when starting a first webshop or clothing collection, there are many other things to consider that you might not think of immediately. For example, packaging the items, applying for EAN codes, printing, and setting up an online shop. We can help you with this as well. We have a large network within the sustainable clothing and printing industry, and in consultation, we can carry out a large part of these tasks for you. Based on the extra services you would like to outsource, we can create a suitable quote that can save you a lot of time and money.
